Welcome to Wishpaw Boxers

Wishpaw Kennels was established in 1973 when I was single, foot loose and fancy free. My name was Judi Cohan and I resided in Hamden, Ct. My dog showing career started out with obedience and a German Shepherd named 'Schultz', the love of my life. After getting his CDX title, the conformation ring caught my interest. I joined the Elm City Kennel Club, and next thing I knew I was the proud owner of a Gordon Setter, Am Can Ch. Forecast Trade Winds, CD.

I owner handled 'Windy' to his championship and along with two of BISS and 4 group placements he was #7 Gordon in 1976. Then I moved on to Boxers and bought my first bitch, a Ch. Huck Hill's Rampage, SOM daughter, Huck Hill's Raging Rampage.

Like most "first Boxers" she was not exactly show potential, but I loved her and she had a great temperament. I became a member Boxer Club of Greater New Haven, and then bred 'Page' to Ch. Salgray's Native Son, a Ch. Salgray's Bo-Jangles son. Dr. Ted Fickes made house calls then and cropped ears on my kitchen table. From this breeding I kept a bitch 'Wishpaw's Cabaret', who won a few single points. Then in 1976 I moved 4 dogs, 2 cats and all my worldly belongings to Mena, Arkansas.

I was fortunate enough to meet Emmett Oliver at a show. He took a real interest in 'Liza' and asked if he could co-own her to breed to Ch. Morleens Al-Le-Lu Ia, SOM. That breeding produced Oliver's Meri-Lu-Ia who was bred to Ch. Har-Vel's Gold Chips and she went on to produce the well known Ch. Oliver's Solid Gold. Sadly I lost her at the tender age of 3 before I could breed her again

I was married in 1980,became Judith Kelly and dog show inactive for 16 yrs. while I raised 4 boys. I couldn't stay away any longer so in 1996 I bought a flashy brindle bitch from Brenda Stuckey and got my youngest son Charles involved.

I'm grateful to Brenda, Terri Galle and Robert Chaffin for their patience, support, advice, and superb handling. Without them there wouldn't be a Ch. Breho E Z Breezee Bee. Breezee's first breeding was to Darlene Vickers Ch. Denbar's Millenial Dream Warrior. On 7/9/01 she had 5 brindles, 2 flashy girls, 1 classic girl and 2 flashy boys. We kept a flashy brindle bitch, Wishpaw's Cabaret Breeze, named after my beloved foundation bitch, who, incidentally was in Turbos' pedigree!

On 12/28/02 'Breezee' had a litter of 5 brindles, 2 flashy girls, 2 classic girls and 1 flashy boy, sired by Ch. Bargary's Cadsome My Shadow, bred by Barbara Wadge and co-owned by Barbara and Patsy & Aubrey Griggs. I have kept a bitch , Wishpaws Winter Romance and a dog, Wishpaws Winter Shadow from that litter.
