 Am/Can Ch. Rodonna's Renegade Soldier x Windwood's Sassafras

I next bred Sassy to her uncle, Am/Can Ch. Rodonna's Renegade Soldier, while she was in Canada getting her Canadian championship. She had two bitches, a flashy fawn and plain brindle. The fawn bitch was Windwood's Rodonna Rose (Rosie). She was really pretty and won several points in spite of a hatchet ear job. I lost Rosie far too young. I had repeated the breeding with Am/Can/SKC Ch. Ell Bee's Sooner Bee Travlin. Rosie was not herself after the mating, and there were a couple of knots on her back. I ended up taking her to L. S. U. She was 5 weeks into the pregnancy. You can imagine how I felt when they told me that she had lymphosarcoma. We tried to keep her going until the puppies were developed enough to live on their own, but it wasn't to be. We did a C-section to try and save the babies, but their lungs weren't developed. I still cannot think about Rosie and her babies without crying. Those few weeks were torture for both of us.
